With the Insider solution, the automation is supplied along with the injection molding machine. The integration of a WITTMANN removal robot, conveyor belt and other pre- and post-processing auxiliaries into the machine makes the Insider cell a compact and space-saving unit. The package is complete with full robot integration. This option turns the UNILOG B8 into the central operating unit for both machine and robot. This results in several advantages such as the possibility of an easier system startup, simplified data management (common data backup for mold data and robot program) and motion synchronizations for cycle optimization, etc.

The extremely low traversing height – compared to standard "Pick & Place" solutions – is worth emphasizing, as it results in a significant advantage in terms of cycle time. The particularly low overall height of the Insider cell is also ideal for production halls with low crane runways. The Insider cell can be optimally combined with the PRIMUS robot series, and this noticeably reduces the total cost of acquisition. The Insider conveyor belt is adjustably attached to the rear safety door. When the safety door is opened, the conveyor belt can also be moved along. This provides unobstructed access to the mold area. In addition, the free area under the conveyor belt can be used for temperature control units or granulators.

The robot is monitored directly via the injection molding machine, eliminating any additional costs for external safety equipment. Separate protective enclosures are also no longer an issue. Further costs can therefore be saved while also complying with all workplace safety regulations. Another advantage is that a CE test is carried out on all components of the Insider cell, thus saving many individual acceptance tests and related costs.

All maintenance access points to the cell are freely accessible and easy to maintain, even with such a compact design. True to the "Plug & Play" principle, the cell has a collective power and air supply. The Insider cell is an extremely stable compact solution, which is why no drill holes into the hall floor are required for stabilizing elements. This means that the cell can also be used with underfloor heating while complying with static requirements.
